A Wonderful Arts Center

In the classic film, A Wonderful Life, George Bailey is given the gift of seeing what his community would be like had he never been born. I thought, “What would Deltona have been without Deltona Arts & Historical Center?”

1.The music community would not have come together to raise funds for 7 year old Gabrielle LaVerde stricken with a rare terminal disease.

2.Forty eight singers and musicians would not have recorded “Its About Love” which raised funds for the Tippie Family who were severely traumatize by an incident on I-4.

3.Assistance to the needy during the three back to back hurricanes, for which DA&HC was awarded by the Pythians, would not have happened.
4.The Red Cross would not have awarded DA&HC for their Katrina Aid benefit concert and CD album.

5.Deltona's history before incorporation would be stored in boxes rather than being on display.
6.Due to the high expense of other professional recording studios thousands of moms, kids, seniors and working class artists would not have had the rare opportunity to professionally record their original songs.

7.Local recording artists who have achieved international renown would not exist.

8.Deltona residents would not have experienced international art exhibits from Cuba and China.

9.The national TV program, “America's Got Talent” would not have held auditions in Deltona.

10. UCF history professor Dr Vilbert White would not have worked on a book about Deltona.

11. Kids and Adults would have enjoyed numerous art and acting classes.

12. Children and teen dance groups would not have had rehearsal space.

13. Deltona artist Morris Weiner would not host his painting show on PBS.

14. Music lessons would not be available.

15. Former Deltona mayor John Masiarczyk would not have had a spectacular thank you for your service gala.

16. Plans for a new state of the art Arts & Performance center would not be underway.

Unquestionably, the absence of the creative oasis known as DA&HC would leave a great void in Deltona's spirit of community and quality of life.

DA&HC is a 501c3 which does not receive operating assistance from the city.

We exist solely on minimal fees and contributions.

Please help us to continue gifting the community with our existence.

Deltona truly has A Wonderful Arts Center.
